Billy Gerald Cook, Sr., age 82, of Woodlawn, passed away Wednesday, December 6, 2017, at Alive Hospice - Madison. 

Billy was born January 28, 1935, in Indian Mound, TN, to the late James Hampton Cook and Lucy Smith Cook. He was also preceded in death by five brothers; one sister; one stepson, Jesse Snyder, Sr., and one stepdaughter, Candy Lanway. 

Billy was the former owner of Cook's Market.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 9, at 1:30 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Bro. James Sheppard officiating. Burial will follow at Smith-Austin Cemetery, in Indian Mound. Visitation will be Friday, December 8, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Saturday, December 9, from 11:00 AM until the time of service, at the funeral home. 

Billy is survived by his wife of 55 years, Katherine Hutchison Cook; two sons, Billy (Patty) Cook, Jr. and Mark (Stephani) Cook; daughter, Sheila Cook; one stepson, Earl (Karen) Snyder; three stepdaughters, Cookie Wallace, Pat (Mark) Durr, and Carolyn Gray; fourteen grandchildren; eighteen great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Brady Cook, Wesley Cook, Bill Lanway, Jesse Snyder, Jr., Josh Snyder, and Jeff Melton.
