Dear Paul and Family,
Norma Jean's passing brings great sadness to all who knew her. She was such a pleasant, loving person. She always lightened my heart when I visited the music department. May all of you find peace and consolation, knowing that she is at peace.

.
Norma Jean Smith was a blessing to all who knew her. As a faithful member of the Hilldale Church of Christ and in her role as administrative assistant in the APSU Music Department, she put the needs of others as her first priority. We, with Paul, bid farewell to a life well lived.

Paul and family,

I knew Ms. Norma Jean first from working at Anna's Hallmark on Madison St. I then had the honor of seeing her in the music department while I was at APSU. And I'm fairly certain I knew Ms. Norma Jean before she was Mrs. Paul Smith. Please know you're in my thoughts and prayers. She was such a precious soul. Much love and prayers are with you.

I count myself lucky to have known and worked with Norma Jean. A generous and thoughtful soul, with an understated sense of humor. May her spirit live on in all who knew her. Peace be with you.

I offer my heartfelt condolences to Paul and the Smith, Hand family and friends of Norma Jean. When death robs us of someone we love very much, it causes much sadness and grief. Our loving heavenly Father gives us hope at Revelations 21: 4 says: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore." Isaiah 33:24 guarantees us: "And no resident will say "I am sick," ever again. May these promises from Jehovah God (Psalm 83:18) bring you comfort. None of us are guaranteed tomorrow, but we are all guaranteed a resurrection. (John 5:28, John 11:23-25) Again, the family is in my prayers and I offer my heartfelt condolences. Dear Paul,

My heartfelt condolences to you in the loss of Norma Jean. She will be remembered by thousands of music students who passed through her office at APSU. But none will be as sweet as the memories of that sweet young lady who walked the halls at CHS. We all will miss our classmate and friend. I will keep you in my prayers, and may God grant you a peace to take away the pangs of loss. Your classmate and friend, Judi Riggins Moore.

"Surely the righteous will will never be shaken; they will be remembered forever." Ps. 112

Dear Paul,
Even as our hearts hurt, we give thanks for the life of Norma Jean, an amazing, kind, and helpful woman -- and a great friend to so many. She is remembered fondly by faculty, staff, and students at Austin Peay -- but also by literally thousands of our former students, who out of love for her, have viewed our Facebook announcement and passed it on to others. Over the last couple of days, the post has had more than 26,000 views -- and the number grows by the hour. We hope that it gives you some measure of comfort to know that so many are holding you in their thoughts and prayers.

Peace and blessings to you and your family.
