Roderick Burke, Sr., age 91, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2017, at his residence. 

Roderick was born January 1, 1926, in Statesville, NC. He was a US Army veteran, having served in World War II. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, September 15, at 12:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Steve Lannom officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, September 14, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Friday, September 15, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home. 

Roderick was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Pearl Byard Burke. He is survived by his son, Roderick "Rod" Burke, Jr.; two daughters, Mary Alice (Jimmy) Simons and Brenda (Joe) Welch, all of Clarksville; seven grandchildren; and fourteen great grandchildren. 

Pallbearers will be Roderick Burke, Jr., Joe Welch, Joey Welch, Patrick Burke, Christian Leather, and Darin Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Byard and Darrell Rye. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2000 Charlotte Avenue, Nashville, TN 37203.
