First my condolences to you Barb and your children. Bill was the best. Bill and I were friends from our Infantry OCS days at Fort Benning, Georgia. I will never forget Bill Kane. Through thick and thin you could always count on Bill Kane as a soldier and a friend. Be it a tactical problem in the field or a pogie run Bill was always there to help to complete the mission. As our careers diverged we always made an effort to remain in touch in order to update each other on life's changes relative to our family's, our careers, and mutual friends. Barbara as Bill has been laid to rest at the end of his life's journey please let it be known that he will be missed. God rest his soul. God bless you Bill.

It pained us to learn about Bill's passing. The last time I saw him was at Ruby Tuesday's, probably his favorite restaurant, to say goodbye before we moved back to Texas. I left before my husband who said that Bill was almost brought to tears before they said goodbye.

We have great and wonderful memories of Bill. How he joked, was patient and kind, how he would sometimes forget to put the battery in his hearing aid and we would have to speak louder to him, and how we pretty much remember all of his stories since he told them to us over and over! It makes me laugh now.

Besides being our financial adviser, Bill was a dear friend of the family. He and my husband, Jason, were fishing buddies. Bill send me flowers when my son was born. He consoled me when I was unfortunately discharged from the Army. He saw my son, Austin, grow up. We also shared the same birthday, April 18th.

Bill, we miss you. I wish I could have attending your services. But, mostly, we wish we could seen and talked to you one last time. I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and remembered those moments. You will be cherished in our mind and hearts. We love you.

I am sad to hear of Bills passing. Bill has been my advisor for sometime now and we have developed a friendship over the years. I will miss his visits to Mississippi and our swapping of war stories. We had both had a lot of Army memories to share each time we met. I not only consider Bill my advisor buy my friend and he will be missed. I am praying for the family and I know Bill will be watching over us all from above. God Bless and keep you all. Another WARRIOR in GODS ARMY!

Barbara, I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. He was a great man and loved you and the kids dearly. I will always cherish starting working with USPA&IRA together, we were the "Newbie's" on the block, we learned a lot together . He was a great boss. I will always remember his jokes and teasing. Once things settles down, please keep in contact. You and your family will be in my prayers.

Barb, I am so very very sorry. How to express such a deep sense of feeling for this overwhelming, sudden loss.. Any of us in our "age bracket" (or other) can understand how overwhelmingly our lives can change irrevocably.. I know you have many friends, great family, wonderful support: people who love you very much and will be there for you. I have admired your spirit and energy ever since meeting you through Arts for Hearts. I hurt for you and for any diminishment your bright Spirit suffers in the wake, but I trust that Light within I have sensed in you and feel certain you will survive again.

I have never at any other service of departure seen such emotional responses from so many, but especially so many men. He obviously was so well loved by so many. I regret I didn't have a chance to know him myself but cherish having you in my life now. Please know you are held in the Light.

Peggy

Barbara, Kris, Kari, and Family - - - Bill was in Boy Scouts with Me, - I put him thru the Masonic Degrees at Ft Campbell Masonic Lodge, - and Bill was My USPA & IRA / First Command Agent for over 25 yrs. We even knew some of the same folks thru our Army careers. - I think the World of BILL, - Many was the time I'd tell BILL, - Just Sign My Name " I Trust You " that's How Much Respect I Had for BILL. - I Loved Harassing BILL with DEBBIE at First Command. - Not sure Who He was the Proudest of Barbara, - You or the Kids. - Pretty Sure it was a Tie, - as Every time We were together or talking on the Phone, - the Status of the entire Family came up. He was Very Proud of Y'all, - always Saying He Was Blessed with the BEST Wife, Son, & Daughter. - Again My Family's Sincere and Deepest Sympathy - - - Respectfully DAVE & PAULINE TUCKER, Clarksville, TN

Can't put into words the sadness I feel. Bill was a collegue, a mentor, and a dear friend. I will never forget his words of encouragement & enthusiasm during times of uncertainty in the path the military took us down.
We will miss him.

Our time with Bill and getting to know him happened in Memphis, TN in 20004-2005 time frame. Bill travelled from Clarksville, TN to Memphis to assist in helping our clients in this area. Bill staying with Bob and I at our home and one of the things I will always remember is at the time we had several cats and he used to tease me about the cats. Each morning when we would get up, I would say to him, WHO LET THE CATS OUT,??woo, woo! he would laugh and say to me: do you get up energized like this every morning? He also got me started reading Harry Potter books while with us. My prayers to Barbara and Kris and Kari. Bill will be with you always in your hearts.

Message from Paul Sikorski
November 27, 2017 9:29 AM

I'm Paul Sikorski. I sat in the same row with Bill for more than 10 years at Predators' games. Don Mcgonagil, a fellow row member, texted me the news. For Barb, Kris, and Keri, my heart goes out to you. In my mind, in that first seat, Bill was the "guardian" of the row. I'll think of him every time I look at it--which will be often.

Life's little gifts: I missed the entire last regular season taking care of my parents (where I am now). At this year's season opener, Bill made it a point to tell me how much he missed my friendship (his word, I was touched) and company during those games. This gave me a chance to say the same. It should have been just a little exchange, but I now regard it as the most important conversation we ever had.

Rest in peace, friend!
