Alfred Brake Rives

Alfred Brake Rives, age 90, of Cumberland Furnace, passed away Saturday, May 28, 2022, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Alfred was born February 25, 1932, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late Elva Brake Rives and Florence Mae Reynolds Rives. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jo Ann Porter Rives.

He is survived by three daughters, Shelia (Mike Sr.) Sheppard, Patty (Ronnie) Presley, Belinda (John Stier Sr.) Rives; son, Ronald W. Rives; nine grandchildren, Stephanie Moore, Brandon L. Rives, Jessie Presley, Michael Sheppard Jr., Thomas "Randy" Corlew, Amanda Forbes, Joanna Corlew, Zachary Rives, Megan Rives, and nine great-grandchildren.

Mr. Rives was a US Army veteran, having served in Germany. He later retired from the Fort Campbell Army Airfield Base as a supervisor. 

Visitation will be Wednesday, June 8, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church. A Celebration of Life Service will follow, at 4:00 PM, at the church, with Rev. Ernie Arnold officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Batson Cemetery, c/o Regions Bank.
