Anne (Hargrove) Murphy

Anne Hargrove Murphy, age 90 of Clarksville, TN, passed on to be with our Lord on April 27, 2018. She was born March 20, 1928, to the late William Lloyd Hargrove and Estelle (Green) Hargrove of Palmyra, TN.

She was married to the late William B. Murphy in June of 1951.

Anne was the owner and director of Wee Wisdom Kindergarten for 17 years. She later opened Anne's Plantscapes and remained actively working until her recent illness.

She was an active member of First Baptist Church in Clarksville. She loved her church and the special friends of her Sunday School Class.

Anne had a love for life and enjoyed meeting new people and adventuring to new places. She loved spending time with her friends and family. She loved flowers, the arts, traveling and her Lord and Savior.

In addition to her parents and husband, Anne was preceded in death by her sisters; Eloise Sugg, Pat Callerstrom, Rachel Dunn and Rebecca Hargrove, as well as her longtime friend, Roger Baker.

Anne was a very special lady and will always live in the hearts of those who loved her.

She is survived by her children; Wayne Murphy (Kay) of Clarksville and Annette Murphy Durham (Phil) of Conway, AR and her grandchildren; Chip Murphy (Christina) and Drew Murphy (Bobbi) both of Clarksville, Ross Durham (Jessica) of Napoleon, OH, Katie Durham and Betsy Durham of Conway, AR and her step-grandchildren; Chris Spann (Jessica), Matt Spann (Jordyn), Phillip Durham (Robin) and Bryant Durham. She was also the proud great-grandmother of seventeen and the aunt to a host of loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be Monday, April 30, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, April 29, 2018, from 1:00-3:00 p.m. and Monday, April 30, 2018, from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Ross Durham, Chip Murphy, Drew Murphy, Jim Dunn, David Dunn, Carl Callerstrom, Matt Spann and J.D. Baker.
