Bettye Jane (Russell) Tidwell

Bettye Jane Tidwell, age 81, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021, at Tennova Healthcare.

Bettye was born October 1, 1939, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late W.G. Russell and Mollie Shelton Russell. She was also preceded in death by her brother, George Russell. 

Bettye was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she was formerly an Elder, and she worked in banking for 25 years. Mrs. Tidwell, along with her husband, was the co-owner and operator of Foodland for over 20 years.  

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, February 12, at 11:00 AM, at Cumberland Presbyterian Church, with Rev. Cal Hampton officiating. Visitation will be Thursday, February 11, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Friday, February 12, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the church.

Bettye is survived by her husband, Robert Lee "Bob" Tidwell; son, Billy (Carol) Walker; daughter, Lisa (Craig) Cornelison; and four grandchildren, Mollie Walker (Taylor) Franklin, Maggie Walker (Eli) Swift, Nathan Cornelison, and Parker Cornelison.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cumberland Presbyterian Church Building Fund, 1410 Golf Club Lane, Clarksville, TN 37040.
