Bobby Knight

Bobby Knight, 74, went to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Sunday, November 25.

He was born on February 18, 1944, son of the late Laura Killebrew Knight and William H. Knight of Clarksville.

He was one of seven children. He is preceded in death by two sisters, Christy Dunaway and Frances Hill; two brothers, Bailey Knight and Alton Knight; and nephew, Mark Hill.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Clarksville, Grace Chapel, with Rev. Cal Hampton officiating. Burial will be at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home and Wednesday, November 28, 2018, from 12:00 p.m. until the hour of service at the church.

Bobby was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville for over 40 years, where he was a deacon and taught Sunday School.

He was a graduate of Clarksville High School. He was a U.S. Army Veteran, having served in the Vietnam Conflict. He was a gifted musician to include his love of singing and playing guitar in several bands throughout his life. He also loved playing golf with his dear friends. He especially enjoyed spending time with his best little buddy, Jensen, doing anything he wanted his PaPa to do. He organized the merchants softball league and coached several little league baseball and basketball teams.

He retired from Belk after 25 years and worked at Saturn and Keller Williams Realty.  

He is survived by his loving wife, Barbara Jo Chester Knight; his devoted daughter, Juli Knight Morris; his beloved grandson, Jensen Morris; two sisters, Betty Wright and Judy Wear; and his sweet dog, Rocky.

Pallbearers will be Tim Dunaway, Mike Hill, Bryan Knight, Bubba Garrett, Larry Williams, and Justin Chester. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ron Samuels Sunday School Class.
