Charles L Leavell

Charles L. Leavell, age 92 of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, June 21, 2022, at Arcadia Senior Living in Clarksville.

Charles was born October 21, 1929, in Todd County, KY, he is the son of the late Austin Peay and Minnie Moore Leavell.  He was preceded by his loving wife, Ella M. Leavell; one brother, Austin Peay Leavell Jr. ; two sisters, Margaret Leavell Johnson and Inez Joyce Pace. 

Survivors include, two daughters, Linda Tyree (Charles) Wall and Diane Tyree (John) Wamble; five grandchildren, Shannon Konkle (J.), Wendy Kauffman (Ken), Emily Williams (Joe), Kathryn Carter (Ray), and Justin Wamble. Five great grandchildren, Caroline and Ross Konkle, Emma and Maggie Williams, and Ella Kauffman; several nephews and nieces.

Charles was a U.S. Army veteran serving during the Korean War. A 1956 graduate of Austin Peay State University, he worked as an Engineer for BF Goodrich and later for BellSouth. He was an active member of Trenton Baptist Church, Trenton, KY serving as a Deacon, Sunday School Director, and teacher for the men's Sunday School Class. He was an avid Kentucky Wildcats Basketball fan and Sunday School classes often included lively basketball discussions before the lesson began.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, June 30, 2022 at the chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Greg Mathis officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the funeral hour of service, at the funeral home.
