Donald William Stolberg

Donald William Stolberg, age 91, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Arcadia Senior Living.

Don was born in Detroit, July 16, 1929 to the late Avis and William Stolberg.  He was sadly preceded in death by his sisters Barbara Stolberg and Dorothy Stolberg (Robertson), his children Mary Margaret Stolberg, Ann Stolberg, Donald Stolberg and Barbara Stolberg.  Most recently, Don was preceded in death by his long time loving companion Doreen Carter. Don is survived by numerous other loving relatives and friends.

Don proudly served in the National Guard early in life. Don enjoyed a notable life long career in Telecommunications. He was formerly employed by Michigan Bell, (AT&T) American Telephone and Telegraph, (IT&T) International Telephone and Telegraph eventually retiring from his position as regional manager.

While employed as regional manager for ITT Don served to open Michigan and surrounding states for private sale and ownership of telephone equipment by private industry to customers connected to the Bell System network.  This innovating effort was pursuant to the landmark regulatory ruling known as the Carterphone decision of 1968. Truly a historic trailblazing event! 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, December 2, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 2, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
