Douglas Jay Bates

Douglas Jay Bates, age 62, of Clarksville, passed away Saturday, April 3, 2021, at Tennova Healthcare.

Douglas was born May 29, 1958, in Clarksburg, WV, to Robert Bates and the late Betty Joyce Bates. He was a retired US Army veteran, having served in the Gulf War.

A graveside service will be held Monday, April 12, at 2:00 PM, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville.

In addition to his father, Mr. Bates is survived by his wife, Stephanie Doss Bates; two sons, Michael R. Bates and Jack Douglas Bates; two daughters, Kristen Marie (Jordan) Carpenter and Carol Ann (Rob) Griggs; one brother, Robert (Pam) Bates; sister, Lisa (Jeffrey) Denham; six grandchildren; sister-in-law, Cheryl Bates Anderson; and Susan Heroth Bates, friend and mother of Michael, Kristen, and Carol.

In addition to his mother, Douglas was preceded in death by one brother, Jeff Bates.
