Edward Louis Shephard, age 94, of Clarksville, passed away Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Clarksville Nursing and Rehabilitation.
Edward was born May 14, 1923, in Woodlawn, TN, to the late William Louis Shephard and Pearl Lisenbee Shephard. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Johnson Shephard.
Mr. Shephard was a US Army veteran and was retired from the US Postal Service. He was a member of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, the Rural Letter Carriers, and a 73-year member of the American Legion. Edward was the inspiration behind Edward's Steakhouse, therefore it was named in his honor.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, April 21, at 2:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Dr. Steve Louder officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, April 20, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Saturday, April 21, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Edward is survived by his son, Gary (Linda) Shephard of Clarksville; two grandsons, Gary (Kelly) Shephard, Jr. of Knoxville, TN and John (Gina) Shephard of Joelton, TN; three great grandsons, Caleb Shephard of Mt. Juliet, TN, Ryne Shephard of Pigeon Forge, TN, and Jett Shephard of Joelton, TN; and one great granddaughter, Aspen Shephard of Joelton, TN.
Pallbearers will be Gary Shephard, John Shephard, Caleb Shephard, John Carney, Rick Christophel, Robin Davis, Ryne Shephard, Jimmy Bryant, and Shaw Fulton.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fieldstone Place, Clarksville Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and Tennessee Quality Hospice for the dedicated care for the past three years.
