Edward Elmer Wade

Edward Elmer Wade, age 76, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, May 31, 2018, at Signature Healthcare. 

Elmer was born August 10, 1941, in Montgomery County, TN, to the late Luther Wade and Mary Louise Buchanan Wade. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Martha Brandon Wade; his brother, George Luther Wade; and his sister Marianna Wade Hicks. 

Elmer was a retired farmer and a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church. He loved to sing gospel music and did so from an early age. Mr. Wade sung in over 40 Montgomery County churches, as well as churches in Mississippi, Kentucky, North Carolina, and Florida. Though painfully shy as a youngster, Elmer grew to be one of the most outgoing, gregariously friendly gentlemen you would ever want to meet. He truly was a friend to everyone he met.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, June 4, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Lenoir Culbertson and Rev. B.J. Brack officiating. Burial will follow at Stewart County Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, June 4, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home. 

Elmer is survived by his two nieces, Lynn Durham (Larry) Cook and Ann Louise Hicks (Michael) Rausch; and great nephew, Jarrett Ethan Rausch. 

Pallbearers will be Bobby Haskins, Phillip Hinton, Sr., Phillip Hinton II, and Glenn Varble.
