Eva C. Freeman

Eva C. Freeman, age 99, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Monday, December 10, 2018, at Tennova Healthcare. 

Eva was born December 24, 1918, to the late Charles Andrew Cox and Nellie Sydenstricker Cox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, James F. Freeman, Sr.; and son, James F. Freeman, Jr.

She was born in Battle Ship, WV, the daughter of a coal miner and one of ten children. Eva loved cooking, gardening, crocheting, reading her Bible, attending church, and spending time with her family. Mrs. Freeman was a member of First Baptist Church of Clarksville, TN and Sophia Freewill Baptist Church in Sophia, WV. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, December 15, at 2:00 PM Eastern Time, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home, in Beckley, WV. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday, December 15, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at Blue Ridge Funeral Home. 

Eva is survived by her daughter, Barbara R. Monk of Clarksville, TN; sister, Lucille Palmer of West Virginia; four grandchildren, Cheri (Ted) Farmer, Terri (Carl) Magee, James Freeman III, and Kristi Elliott; seven great grandchildren, Stephen (Melissa) Pace, Jackson Farmer, Ashlie Elliott, Savannah Freeman, Nick Magee, Cody Magee, and Mason Magee; and two great-great grandchildren, Charles Pace and Lucas Magee. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Women's Auxiliary, c/o Sophia Freewill Baptist Church, Wickline Avenue, Sophia, WV 25921; or to Good Samaritan Ministries, 346 Union Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
