Frederick "Max" M. Ernst

Frederick M. "Max" Ernst, 95, of Clarksville, TN, answered his last call of "Boots and Saddles" from our Lord on Wednesday, February 28, 2018.

Max passed away peacefully at Fieldstone Place Assisted Living, his home for the past 10 years.

Max was born on July 3, 1922, in Carthage, IL to the late Donald Hessian and Catherine Milby Hessian. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Marion Josephine Ennis Ernst and sister, Shirley Stacey.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Greg Glover officiating. Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.

Max was a retired National Guardsman, having served in both the Atlantic and Pacific Theaters. He was best known for his 35+ years at Montgomery Ward. He was also known for his longtime service within the First Presbyterian Church.

Max is survived by his sons, Thomas F. "Fred" Ernst and his wife Barbie of Ava, MO and Donald M. "Mickey" Ernst of Apollo Beach, FL; his grandchildren, Thomas F. "Thom" Ernst, II of Dayton, OH and Carrie Dean of Springfield, MO. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews around the area.

Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Hutton, Bill Kleaman, Hank Livington, Leroy "Rod" Mack, Jr., John Craven, and David Morgan.
