G.T. Van Rensburg, age 81, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2022, at Alive Hospice Residence in Nashville.
G.T. was born July 28, 1940, in Johannesburg, South Africa, to the late G.T. Van Rensburg and Elizabeth DeBeer Van Rensburg. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Gloria Beryl Van Rensburg; and brother, Mack Van Rensburg.
He is survived by his wife, Maxine Stroud Van Rensburg; three daughters, Linda (Richard) Sutter, Wendy (Lawrence) Roberts, and Mandy (James) Scudder; two stepdaughters, Lisa (Jay) Tucker and Patricia (Greg) Golter; sister, Betty Schahn; four grandchildren, Chayson Roberts, Cameron Roberts, Jamie Scudder, and Amberly Scudder; six step-grandchildren, Kyle (Jenny) Tucker, Katie (Mark) Rogers, Sara (Tucker) Anderson, Rachel Tucker, Tristan Golter, and Trevor Golter; and five step-great grandchildren, Ellie, Stroud, Henry, Sam, August, and Philip.
Mr. Van Rensburg was a member of Hilldale Church of Christ. He was a mechanical engineer and worked at Nashville Wire for 25 years. G.T. was very talented and creative at making things by hand, to include woodworking, drawing, and making 3D models. He was a true designer, and he loved singing.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, July 3, at 1:00 PM, at Hilldale Church of Christ, with Bro. Steve Kirby officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, July 2, from 3:00 to 6:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Sunday, July 3, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at the church. Interment will be held at Ever Rest of Cheatham at a later date.
Honorary pallbearers will be G.T.'s sons-in-law, grandsons, and Danny McNeal.
