Geraldine "Gerry" Hammer

Geraldine (Gerry) Hammer, age 77, passed from this world Sunday, March 25, 2018, in Knoxville, TN. She was formerly from Clarksville, TN.  

She was preceded in death by her parents Albert and Mary Conklin and her brother James Conklin.

She is survived by her husband, Gary Hammer, of 32 years; her daughter, Kelly Jordan of Freeport, FL.; her son, Jeff Jordan of Charlotte, NC.; her daughter, Dana McKenry and her husband, John of Knoxville, TN.  Gerry was a proud grandmother of seven grandchildren; Michael Jordan, Andrew Jordan and his wife Sarah, Jordan Kaboulov and her husband Gennadi; Benjamin Hartbarger, Allison Hartbarger (Matt McKenney), Ross McKenry and Jack McKenry. She was also a great-grandmother to Sophia McKenney and Emma McKenney. Her sister-in-law, Daria Conklin and niece Kara Conklin and her husband Virgil Merritt.  Special friends, Heidi Yetton, Geri Fendley, Denise Martin, Patricia Trice, Tina Walker, Barbara Plechaty, Janette Moss, Carol Conklin, Leah Colclasure and several more amazing life-long friends. Gerry was blessed to have a friendship greater than 50 years with Lorretta Lucas.  

Gerry was born in September 5, 1940 in Trenton, New Jersey and resided in Yardley, PA. She attended Pennesbury High School in Yardley, PA. Gerry graduated from Virginia Intermont College.  

Gerry was a Realtor and Relocation Director for Conroy, Marable and Holleman for 37 years.  She served on the Board of Directors from 1992- 1994, 1998-2000 of the Clarksville Association of Realtors.  Gerry chaired the Professional Standards Committee, 1994 and Grievance Committee in 2005 and 2008. Gerry was named Realtor of the Year in 2004.

Gerry was a collector of people. She was a friend on your darkest day as well as your best day, a mentor, she always had an ear to bend, she was a second mother to many. Gerry was no-nonsense; she would tell you when you were doing wrong but also praised you when right. She was your champion when you needed it. 

Services will be Thursday, April 12, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Visitation will be Thursday, April 12, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.  

In lieu of flowers, Gerry requested donations be made to St. Jude Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
