Ghoram (Russell) Adkins

Ghoram R. Adkins, age 88, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Spring Meadows Healthcare Center.

Ghoram was born November 22, 1933, to the late John William Robert Russell and Ollie Smith Russell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert L. Adkins, Jr.; brother, James Russell; and four sisters, Lucille Ryan, Nora Oldham, Priscilla Hayes, and Edna Jackson.

Mrs. Adkins is survived by two sons, Russell (Judi) Adkins and John (Angie) Adkins; five grandchildren, Jennifer McWhirter, Brett Adkins, Ashley Schmidt, Taylor Adkins, and Katie Adkins; and five great grandchildren, Kayden Adkins, Keeley Adkins, Ollie McWhirter, Emmett McWhirter, and Amelia Schmidt.

Ghoram was a retired loan officer at First National Bank and a member of Hickory Point United Methodist Church. Her church was a very important part of her life. She was a loving mother and grandmother. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, January 11, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Mark Carrigan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, January 10, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Tuesday, January 11, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Andy Swaffer, Brett Adkins, Cole Swaffer, Kyle Jones, Gavin Schmidt, and Cole Freeman. Honorary pallbearers will be Jimmy Russell.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Hickory Point United Methodist Church, 2001 Lock B Road North, Clarksville, TN 37043.
