Gisela I. Stevens, age 82, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, December 28, 2018, at Tennova Healthcare.
Gisela was born November 4, 1936, in Gorlitz, Germany to the late Robert and Martha Holzbeacher. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Elizabeth Fiedler and Brigette Hoppe; and one granddaughter, Michelle Nelson.
Mrs. Stevens was retired from the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, after more than 20 years of service. She was a member of the Edelweiss Club and Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, December 31, at 1:00 PM, at Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church, with Pastor Kent Holz officiating. Visitation will be Sunday, December 30, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, and Monday, December 31, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service, at the church. Gisela will be laid to rest Wednesday, January 2, at 2:00 PM, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville.
Gisela is survived by her husband, Walter "Steve" Stevens; daughter, Sylvia G. Nelson of Taylorville, IL; one granddaughter, Sherri (Matt) Fry; and two great grandchildren, Tyler Fry and Abigail Fry, both of Taylorville, IL.
