Grace Eileen Anderson

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Grace Eileen Anderson, on February 6, 2021. She left us after fighting an extended illness with Alzheimer’s.

Mom was born in Cincinnati, OH on March 23, 1933 and moved to Wilmington, CA in her early years. She is preceded in death by her husband, SFC Robert Edward Anderson and son Edward Robert Anderson, mother, Vera Goodman, step-father, Warren Goodman and daughter-in-law, Phyllis C. Anderson. She is survived by her sons, Steven P. Anderson, Greenbrier, TN, Larry D. Anderson, Four Oaks, NC, Mark Anderson, Clarksville, TN, grandson, Tyler Anderson, Cumberland, RI and granddaughter, Peyton Nicole Anderson, Tampa, FL and brother Robert Reed and sister-in-law Ruth Reed, Euless, TX.

During mom’s early years in California, she worked for Northrop Corporation. Later in life she became an Army wife. She really loved the military life with the exception of the year-long deployments. She would tell you without hesitation that their 4 year assignment to Berlin, Germany, was their highlight. While in Berlin she became the Social Director for the Four Powers Peace Talks that met monthly. After returning to Clarksville, she enjoyed her tenure as a supervisor with Progressive Directions Group Home.

A private family memorial service will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021.
