John Robert "Bobby" Hunter

John Robert "Bobby" Hunter, age 84, of Clarksville, TN, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at Tennova Healthcare.

Bobby was born November 30, 1937 in Montgomery County, to the late James A. Hunter and Rosa Alma Hudgens Hunter. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Hillard Hunter and a sister, Elizabeth Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Hunter; daughters, Jana (Jeff) Banyas and April Willis; four grandchildren, Bradley (Sarah) Banyas, Matthew Banyas, Catherine (Matt) Carter and Emily Willis; sister, Madeline Brown. He was also an expectant great-grandfather to a great-granddaughter.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Bobby was a member of Sango United Methodist Church and was a 1956 graduate of Clarksville High School. He retired after 38 years from Trane as a manufacturing engineer associate.  He had a part-time Electrolux business and was a member of the Army Reserves.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, July 24, at 2:00 PM at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with pastor Dane Van Eys officiating.  Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, July 24, from 12:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Sango United Methodist Church.
