Linda P. Teemer

Linda Patricia Teemer of Clarksville, Tennessee, passed away on March 9, 2021, at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee.

Linda was born in Djakarta, Indonesia, on October 28, 1951, to Beatrice and Gerardus Van Der Puil.  The family arrived to the United States in 1960 and settled in Denver, Colorado.  Linda attended South High School in Denver and graduated in 1969. She joined the United States Army during the Vietnam War in April 1972. During her service to our country she met her wonderful husband of 40 years, Shellie R. Teemer Jr, while they were both stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany in May 1980. Linda and Shellie were joined in holy matrimony on 12 January 1981.

During her 20 years of active duty service while serving in the United States Army she obtained the rank of Master Sergeant. Her personal awards include: Meritorious Service Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Saudi Arabia Kuwait Liberation Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon and NCO Professional Development Ribbon. 

 In April 1992 Linda retired from the United States Army and worked as a welder at the local Trane plant in Clarksville.  

Linda is survived by her siblings: Yvonne (Charles), Richard (Debbie), Wendy, Cynthia and Carl.  She has multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.  Linda was preceded in death by her husband Shellie R. Teemer Jr, her parents, Beatrice and Gerardus, her brother Johny, her sister Joyce, her sister Maria, and her nephews Luthrean and Jeffrey.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Tuesday, March 16, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West. Visitation will be Monday, March 15, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, and Tuesday, March 16, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
