Mary Alice Chapuis

Mary Alice Chapuis, age 77, of Clarksville, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018, at her residence. 

Alice was born August 7, 1940, in Canton, MS, to Richard Coy Berry and Frances Catherine Hargon Berry. She was valedictorian of her graduating class at Canton High School. Alice attended the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) on an English Literature Scholarship, where she majored in journalism. 

She married the love of her life, Bobby Ray Chapuis of Grenada, MS in 1959. It was an excellent choice as they enjoyed 59 years of marriage. They raised and loved two children, Danny and Cathy. They were also blessed to love four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. 

Alice touched so many lives with her love, and she will live on in the hearts of those who knew her. We know you are dancing in Heaven. Save the last dance for Bob.

Funeral Mass will be held Friday, August 3, at 11:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Visitation will be Thursday, August 2, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. She will be laid to rest Tuesday, August 7, at 11:00 AM, at Middle Tennessee State Veterans Cemetery.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; and six siblings, Therese, Mike, Tony, Hugh, Kevin, and Charles. 

She is survived by her husband, Bobby R. Chapuis of Clarksville; son, Daniel (Jayne) Chapuis of Franklin, TN; daughter, Cathy (Matt) Winn of Clarksville; five siblings, Richard, Pat, Dolly, Lloyd, and Peter; four grandchildren, Nathan Chapuis, Celia Chapuis, Alyson (Kyle) Ranallo, and Amye (Curt) Miller; and four great grandchildren, Kenzie, Ben, Winn, and Kate.
