Tribute

Miguel Angel Maldonado-Martinez passed away January 1, 2021 after a brief illness brought on by COVID-19.

Miguel was born February 25, 1955 to Reyes and Maria Teresa (Martinez) Maldonado-Martell in Utuado, Puerto Rico. Miguel was preceded in death by both parents.

Miguel was married to Dena Maldonado. Miguel and Dena resided in Clarksville, Tennessee where Miguel owned and operated Miguel’s Auto Mechanic Shop for over twenty years. Miguel had been a mechanic for over forty-five years. He started out as a mechanic in Puerto Rico and then moved to Massachusetts before settling in Tennessee where he established his own shop in which he prided himself in maintaining for over twenty years. Miguel had a passion for his work. You could find him at his garage seven days a week, but he was never too busy for family and friends. He would often stop work and put everything aside when someone was in need. Miguel enjoyed visiting family and friends in Puerto Rico. Each year he would look forward to his annual visit. The only other thing Miguel enjoyed as much as his garage and Puerto Rico, were his children. If he was unable to visit, he made sure they knew he loved them.

Miguel’s sister, Maria Teresa, and brother, Hector Luis, preceded Miguel in death. Miguel leaves behind eleven siblings; Reyes, Luis Enrique, Manuel Antonio, Samuel, Carmen Daisy, Juan 1/2 Pablo, Maria Eugenia, Rosa Margarita, Francisco Reyes, Deborah Lee, Jose Antonio And thirteen children; Miguelina, Mariela, Edwin, Miguel Angel, Jose, Juan, Christine, Pauline, Jarid, Teresa Maria, Antonio Miguel, Madeline, and David; grandchildren; Keishla, Luis, Lekisha, many step-grandchildren along with MANY nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends (especially longtime friend Gilberto Ortiz-Lopez of MA) Miguel will be remembered for his sense of humor. He enjoyed hearing people laugh and loved to put a smile on your face.
