Muriel Dean (Warren) Bates

Muriel Dean Bates, age 80, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, May 27, 2022.

Muriel was born June 20, 1941, in the community of Rocky Valley, in Hickman County, TN, to the late Alonzo Warren and Jewell Allen Warren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert (Mary Lee) Warren.

Mrs. Bates was married March 15, 1957 to Ray Bates. Also surviving are their two sons, Terry (Sandra) Bates and Larry (Teresa) Bates; two granddaughters, Amanda (Duane) Odom and Jennifer (Ryan) Semrau; and two great grandchildren, Emma Semrau and Nolan Semrau.

A Celebration of Life Service will be Tuesday, May 31, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, May 30, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Tuesday, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Muriel had several hobbies, including her rock, glass, button, and stamp collections. She loved flowers, and especially irises. She had a never-ending love for her family, friends, and church. Mrs. Bates was a Jehovah Witness for over 50 years, with an eye on Eternal Life. She was a truly wonderful person.
