(Ret.) MSG Richard Earl Grice

(Ret.) MSG Richard Earl Grice, 78, of Clarksville, TN, passed away on Tuesday, June 12, 2018, at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.

Richard was born on March 16, 1940, in Wayne County, NC to the late Arthur Grice and Etta Newsome Grice. He was preceded in death by six brothers and two sisters.

Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at the Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with (Ret.) Chaplain Anderson H. Grant officiating. Burial will be at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West in Hopkinsville, KY with full military honors. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. and Friday, June 15, 2018, from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.

MSG Grice was a retired U.S. Army Veteran, having served in Vietnam. He was a member of Blanchfield Army Community Hospital Chapel. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, and his beloved pet, Candy.

Richard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Barbara J. Grice; son, Richard E. Grice II (Kimberly); three daughters, Robin Johnson-Dickens (Timm), Earleen Swain, and Barbara A. Grice; brother, Alfonzo Grice (Irene); sister, Lillie Jernigan; seven grandchildren, Dominique, Nichole, Mashao, Daphne, Leena, Jonathan, and Jada; and six great grandchildren, Penelope-Love, Mark-Michelle, Roman, Destin, Jeffrey, and Olive.
