Robert Branton Griffin

CW2 (Ret) Robert Branton Griffin, age 94 of Clarksville, passed away on Sunday, January 9, 2022 at his residence.

Robert was born on October 5, 1927 in Evergreen, Alabama to the late George Griffin and Lilly Watts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Griffin and several brothers and sisters.  He is survived by his sons: Steven (Rita) Griffin, Allen Griffin, Gary Griffin, Mark (Susan) Griffin; daughter, Angel Griffin; brother, Roy Griffin and sisters: Joyce Antony and Moncelle Chaulk.

Robert served our Nation in WWII with the 11th Airborne Division, 187 INF (ABN) “Rakkasans. He also served in the Occupation of Japan, Korean War and Vietnam. He was awarded the Bronze Star and several other Military Commendations. Earlier in his years, he was an avid bird hunter. He loved the Cincinnati Reds and was the biggest fan of Alabama football.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, January 13, 2022 at 12:00 PM at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with James Gilliam officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until the hour of service.

Pallbearers will be Lyndon Watts, John Williams, Jeff Champion, Jamie Evans, Robert “Buddy” Griffin and Cory Gunter.

The family would like to thank caregivers Denise, Natalie, Brooksie, Rose, Allison and Mary for their loving care.
