On Tuesday, March 23, 2021. Robert Petersen, 78, passed away at his residence. He was born in Jersey City, New Jersey to Catherine and Edward Petersen who preceded him in death as did his sister, Joan Cintron.
He is survived by his beloved family: his wife of 53 years Allyne Petersen and children Carol (Derek) Stiver, Ann (Dave) Sternberg, Rob Petersen, Julie (Sean) Sullivan and Tom (Britney) Petersen, brother-in-laws Wil Cintron, Bob (Pat) Kaleida, Dick (Michele) Kaleida, and Matt Kaleida: sisters-in-law Patty (Andy) Patterson, Joanne Robinson, Diane (Cecil) Riley and Dorothy (Gary) Karpinski, grandchildren: Robert, Trevor, Collin, Joelle, Channing, Carter, Harrison, Palmer, Isabell, Helen, Quinn, Audrey, Gage, Faryn, and Madelyn as well as great-grandchild Chase. He leaves behind a multitude of nieces and nephews.
Bob graduated high school from Mt. St. Michael Academy. He got his degree in mechanical engineering at New York State Maritime College in Bronx, NY. He enjoyed sports, playing golf, carving and spending time with his family who were the center of his life.
Bob was a faithful member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church where he served as a teacher of our youth and in another parish was their CYO leader. He was proud to help as a Sacristan for ten yours and visit the sick with Fr. Mario. He was a 3rd degree with the Knights of Columbus.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immaculate Conception Church, 716 Franklin Street., Clarksville, TN 37040 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis TN 38105.
Funeral will be for family members only because of the Covid 19 Pandemic.
