Roger Wayne Duprey

Roger Wayne Duprey, age 70, of Clarksville, passed away Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Tennova Healthcare. 

Roger was born February 6, 1948, to the late Virgil and Vivian Duprey. Mr. Duprey attained a Masters in Aeronautical Engineering from Murray State University. He was a highly decorated US Army veteran, having retired after 23 years of service as a CW4. Roger was Army Aviator of the Year in 1985. After his military service, he continued as a flight simulator instructor for 12 years. He was Commander of VFW Post 4895 for five years, and a member of Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, April 25, at 1:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, where full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 24, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Wednesday, April 25, from 11:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home. Interment will be held at a later date, at Kentucky Veterans Cemetery West, in Hopkinsville. 

Roger is survived by his wife, Mary Ellen McNeill Duprey; son, Dr. Ryan (Jenna) Duprey; daughter, Kelly (Darek) Downing; and three grandchildren, Nichalous, Megan, and Max. 

Honorary pallbearers will be Terry McNeill, James McNeill, Bruce Wallace, Gary King, David Ross, and Darek Downing. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to VFW Post 4895, 1701 Haynes Street, Clarksville, TN 37043; or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
