Sara was born on January 23, 1924 to Cyrus and Mary Scott Neblett.

She is survived by her children, Jerry (Sara) Yarbrough, Joe Yarbrough, Steve (Kim) Yarbrough, and Connie (Rick) Hellums; grandchildren Terri (Jay) Gagliardo, Karen (Bruce) Trotter, Russell Yarbrough, Chris Yarbrough, Lexi (Jim) Jobe, and Stacy (Matt) Buck; great grandchildren Nick Gagliardo, Derek (Paige) Bumpus, Ethan Bumpus, Ryan (Brittany)Yarbrough, Whitney Yarbrough, Jacob Yarbrough, Matthew Yarbrough, Carsyn Yarbrough, Caitlin Yarbrough, Elijah Yarbrough, Cole Jobe, Harper Jobe, Griffin Buck, Jensen Buck, and Bowen Buck; great-great grandchildren Rhett Smith, Lakynn Yarbrough, and Amelia Yarbrough; and sisters Marie Black and June Neblett.

After graduating from the first class at Montgomery Central High School in 1942, she stayed home to raise her four children. In 1966, she went to work for Sears.  There she worked for 20 years where she made lifelong friends and many fond memories with her co-workers and customers.  Well known for her style and fun personality, she was cherished by all whom she encountered in the store. After retiring, she loved entertaining friends and family in her home, watching birds out her window, taking countless pictures of sunsets and barns, going on trips with her sisters, and writing cards with funny doodles to her grandchildren. She put the fashion in fashionably late; Sara loved jewelry, antiques, and glassware.  Just like her purse and lipstick, Sara was never seen without a mischievous glint in her eye.  A visit to her house may include a snack of chocolate graham crackers or a Snickers ice cream bar.  If one had a keen eye, he or she would see a jar of lady bugs. No one was safe from her practical jokes; she even proudly drove her red Cadillac with “A Touch of Class” license plate.  She spent the last years of her life at Brookdale Assisted Living where she was beloved by the staff and sang hymns to her visitors. Sara’s wit and infectious spirit was legendary, and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and community.

Pallbearers include her following great grandsons: Derek Bumpus, Ethan Bumpus, Ryan Yarbrough, Jacob Yarbrough, Matthew Yarbrough, Carsyn Yarbrough, Elijah Yarbrough, and Cole Jobe.
