Shannon Patrick Dowdy

Shannon Patrick Dowdy, age 42, of Clarksville, passed away Friday, July 23, 2021, at his residence.

Shannon was born December 13, 1978, in Clarksville, TN, to William Patrick Dowdy and Carolyn Lee Ferrell Dowdy. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sister, Laurie Ann Stewart; three nephews, Ryan Ward, Jordan Ward, and Sheldon Bo Ward.

Mr. Dowdy was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Comer Lee Ferrell and Lorene Ferrell; paternal grandparents, William Dowdy and Margaret Dowdy; and sister, Melanie Renee Dowdy Ward.

He was an inspiration to us all, the love he had to give! If we could be more like he, a greater life we'd live. Trusting eyes and curious mind, inseparable from his mother, a road to walk, lessons learned while depending on each other. Lucky the one to have been a part of the life of this angel with the face of a man, and believing heart of a child. 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, July 26, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Stewart Salyer officiating. Burial will follow at Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, July 25, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM, and Monday, July 26, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Sandra Hanson, Sheila Sexton, Amy Miller, Crystal Bibbs, Roger Gray, and Jim Scott. Bikers Who Care will serve as honorary pallbearers.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Shriner Hospital for Children, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington, KY 40508.
