Shirley "Joy" Yarbrough

Shirley Joy Yarbrough, age 61 of Clarksville, went to be with her Lord and Savior Monday May 30, 2022 at Skyline Medical Center. 

Ms. Yarbrough was born to Charles Burney Yarbrough and Shirley Kentner Yarbrough on March 17, 1961, in Clarksville, TN.  She was preceeded in death by her Father.  Joy is survived by her loving Mother and her devoted brother Steven Yarbrough. 

Ms. Yarbrough was a graduate of Montgomery Central High School and Austin Peay State University.  She received a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Education.  Ms. Yarbrough was a teacher and educator for the Clarksville-Montgomery County School System having taught students at Montgomery Central and Cumberland Heights Elementary Schools.  She retired in 2018 after devoting 34 years as a passionate educator and will be fondly remembered by her cherished students. 

Joy was a member of Hilldale United Methodist Church.  She was a member of the Nehemiah Sunday School class and also a member of the Adult Hand bell Choir.

A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday June 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home with Rev. Stephen Sauls and Rev. Ben Falls officiating.  Burial to follow at Antioch United Methodist Church Cemetery.  Visitation will be Saturday, June 4, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 4:00PM and Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 12:00 PM until the hour of service at the funeral home.
