Robert Roy Cummings, went missing in action November 29, 1950, at the age of 20, while honorably serving his country in Korea. His remains have been recovered and returned to Clarksville, TN for burial.
Robert was born May 18, 1930, in Michigan, to the late Walter Cummings and Grace Cummings. He was also preceded in death by one sister, Eileen Belanger and one brother, Dick Cummings.
Robert is survived by his wife, Melba Hudgens Cummings of Clarksville, TN; son, Rex (Deborah) Cummings of Clarksville; one sister, Sandy (Dennis) McMahon of Lynnwood, WA; one brother, Raymond "Skip" (Sylvia) Cummings of Bay City, MI; three grandchildren, Joshua (Jessica) Cummings, Amy (Billy) Morrison, and Meagan Cummings, all of Clarksville; four great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, March 4, at 10:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Gardens, where full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be Friday, March 3, from 4:00 to 7:00 PM, and Saturday, March 4, from 9:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
