SFC George Christy "Bubba" Bible III, age 36, of Fort Riley, KS, passed away Saturday, October 21, 2017.
Bubba was born September 16, 1981, in Jackson, MS, to Chris Bible and Rhonda Tabor Bible.
Bubba was a US Army veteran. He was a platoon sergeant and Black Hawk helicopter repairer with D Company, 3rd Assault Helicopter Battalion, 1st Aviation Regiment, 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division. He joined the Army in March 2002, where he served at Fort Campbell, KY until his arrival at Fort Riley in February 2017. While at Fort Campbell, he served in the 160th, the 159th, and the 96th ASB. He deployed to Iraq in 2006 and 2007, and to Afghanistan in 2008, 2011, and 2013. Bubba's awards include Air Medal with Valor, the Army Commendation Medal, the Army Good Conduct Medal, the Afghanistan Campaign Medal, the Iraq Campaign Medal, the Combat Action Badge, the Senior Aviation Badge, and the Air Assault Badge.
Bubba was also a 1999 graduate of Montgomery Central High School, where he played football and soccer. He traveled to Australia and Hawaii after graduation to play for the Tennessee All-Star Football Team.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday, November 4, at 4:00 PM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, where full military honors will be rendered. Visitation will be Saturday, November 4, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
In addition to his parents, Bubba is survived by his wife, Remina Wright Bible; two daughters, Blaire Bible and Amelia Bible; sister, Kristen Bible Hines; two nieces, Tabor Hines and Hannah Hines; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
