Harvey F. Blanck, age 84, of Clarksville, TN, died Saturday, May 7, 2016, at home, from pancreatic cancer.
He was born April 4, 1932, in N. Ridgeville, OH, to the late Harvey Blanck, Sr. and Beulah Sweet Blanck.
He was a retired Austin Peay State University chemistry professor, having obtained his Ph.D. from Ohio State University, following six years of service with the US Air Force, after gradating from Miami University (OH).
Harvey is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Ritter Blanck, formerly of Glasgow, KY; son Fred; daughter, Nancy; three grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Patsy Ritter Bunch of Bowling Green, KY and Peggy Ritter Reece of Glasgow, KY; brothers-in-law, Max (Deb) Ritter of Nashville and Marshall (Patty) Bailey of Glasgow, KY; and several nieces and nephews.
Celebration of life service will be held Tuesday, May 10, at 11:00 AM, at the Chapel of Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home, with Rev. Laurie Hynson and Rev. Jim Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM, and Tuesday, May 10, from 10:00 AM until the hour of service, at the funeral home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are David Keeton, members of the Couples One Sunday School Class - First Baptist Church, and members of the Pathfinders Sunday School Class - Madison Street United Methodist Church.
